  3. Hi Katie, I guess my favorite costume was with the past few years. I don't remember my childhood costumes so much, it was too long ago, lol. I was a ghost bride and went to South Side and hardly anyone was dressed up, except me and a friend!

  5. My mom made an Indian costume for me with a matching one for my Cabbage patch kid doll. I even had a papoose that she made and I wore the doll on my back.

  6. My favorite was when I was in high school and went as mama from Mamas Family. I put a bunch of pillows to make my butt look bigger. I fell down a hill that year running, but the pillows saved me. I still look at the pictures and laugh....it was so my moms idea!!

  13. My first year at a new school (7th grade) I went to the halloween dance dressed as Female Genie. I was under the impression that people dressed up. However, I was the ONLY student in a costume! AND my mother refused to bring me clothes (called her from the pay phone) because she said I looked cute and should not be embarassed!

  25. Ok this is not my costume but my sisters she went as a bag of garbage! We put her in the bag, cut holes for her arms, filled it with newspaper tied it around her neck then put some dirt on her face! But I felt she need some accessories so I made her earrings out of used tea bags and then bobby pinned a banana peel on top of her head!!

  27. Hi Katie, I love your creativity and of course your cookies. My favorite costume was when I got to dress up as a witch and wear a long black cape, a big pointy hat, and carry a broom! My mom had beautiful long french braids hanging out from under the hat ;) I was a very fancy witch.

    Happy Halloween Katie!!

  28. Hi, Katie! I'll never forget the time I was about ten years old and my girlfriend was about 9 years old and we were trick or treating in our neighborhood. It was very dark, and my girlfriend tripped on the bottom of her costume, fell backwards down two flights of stairs that go up into someone's home, and she rolled out into the street. Well, she got up and she was okay, thank God, but a yellow taxi cab was driving up the street and ran over her whole bag of candy. I felt so bad that I gave her half of the candy I collected. We are still best friends to this day!

  29. Sorry, Katie! I misread your request. My favorite and most hilarious costume was when I was a giant lion. It had this huge head and it was so big, I had a hard time seeing in it. Another one (a tie with the lion) was when I was dressed as an 8 foot rabbit, while I was pregnant with one of my kids. My "ears" got caught in someone's clothes line and I almost fell backwards. It was a close call, but we laugh about it today!

  30. My funniest costume from childhood was a homemade pumpkin costume that we stuffed with bed pillows. It was incredibly awkward and occassionaly difficult to move but very picture worthy. led1357@gmail.com

  34. One year my son was a box of diapers. I cut off the handle and put it on his head, cut the bottom out and cut holes in the sides of the box for his arms to come through. He looked so cute. Of course diapers don't come in boxes any more.
