My new favorite icing color to make is coral. It's so pretty and it's a nice break from the many many bright pink cookies that I make. These cowgirl cookies are almost at the very top of my all-time favorite list! I love the coral and brown and teal combination. Just so pretty! I'm definitely going to be making these for my favorite little Texan who will be turning one in June! And the best part?? I get to hand-deliver them because we're going to Texas for the party!! Better get Mia some cowgirl boots!

Making plans
Sometimes I think I could've been an architect. I really love when things are exact and a good solid plan is like my drug of choice. I don't mean to brag...but I'm seriously good at Legos, too. (omg, this is what my life has come to). Most importantly, I love to be the person who creates the plan that everyone else follows! I think I missed my calling!
So these cookies were really fun...they were for an architect event in Pittsburgh....requested by the amazing people at Brookside Lumber. Loved it!

A Lil' Man
Hi there!
I got a really fun cookie request last week for some baby shower cookies. The theme was "welcoming a lil' man" and I thought it was a really cute idea! I do so many baby shower cookies that are strollers and onesies, etc. so it's always exciting to do something a little bit different. I'm just imagining a bunch of ladies all dressed up at a shower holding mustache cookies in front of their faces lol. Fun!
And I just want to say that I'm so sorry for my lack of blogging these days. I'm spending so much time decorating cookies lately that I barely have time to sit at my computer! I guess that's a good thing?
Hope everyone has a great Easter! We'll probably be building snowman Easter bunnies here in Pgh. Ugh.....I'm ready for Spring!!!!

For the fellas
Well hello there! Where've I been? Where the heck is February going so fast? Valentine's day came and went and it's a total blur. I know that my cookie room looked like a pink and red ribbon factory exploded in it so I was certainly busy. After all of that love and hearts and pink and x's and o's...I thought it would be a good idea to do a blog post about cookies that are manly.
It's always a bit of a struggle for me when I get a cookie request for a man's birthday. I have to steer clear of anything too cutesy or feminine looking and that can be tough. So here are some examples of cookies for dudes. Enjoy!

Painful
For the 2nd year in a row I'm posting Superbowl cookies that AREN'T Steelers cookies. It hurts.
As I'm sure most of you know this will be a rough Superbowl to watch for Steeler fans. If the 49ers win then they'll have as many trophies as us. If the Ravens (Mia calls them the raisins lol) win then we'll have to hear all about it all next year and they're in our division and our biggest rivals and blah blah blah. It's really a no-win situation for us here in Pittsburgh.
So I have to route for someone or it just won't feel like the Superbowl. I had to pick. It was really hard.
I'm siding with my husband and routing for the Ravens. He's a Ray Lewis fan and I'm kinda like, whatever, I guess I like purple.
So here ya go.....these are the cookies for our Superbowl party.
And here's our "pigskin turkey" that's currently in the oven and making my house smell kind of amazing. Believe it or not, it was my idea to cook the turkey like this. I can't decide if I'm proud or myself or disgusted with myself. I'll let you know how it turns out!
Go Ravens! (in a quiet, whispery, not really mean it kind of voice)

Tag me!
I really really enjoy making personalized tags for individually wrapped cookies. There's a WHOLE WORLD of fonts out there and I could spend hours searching for the perfect one for a particular job. The right font can really just add so much character to the tag. So this blog post is an homage to my all-time favorite tags. Do you have a favorite? Enjoy!

The Doc is in!
OK moms of preschoolers.....you knew this was coming! Doc McStuffins cookies!
Doc McStuffins is one of Mia's favorite shows....and I admit that it's quite adorable. I love all of the characters and the story lines are so cute. Mia plays pretend-doctor all the time and she has definitely learned some fun things from this show. This was a really fun project for me and I just adored the final product!

If you're a regular reader of my blog then you know that I've been spending some real quality time with my daughter lately. After making these cookies I was inspired to do a craft project with her. We created her very own "Big Book of Boo-Boo's!" It was so so so easy and seriously, Mia was impressed. I'm like freakin' Martha Stewart in her eyes.
Just get some cardstock, scissors, glue, hole puncher, and some plastic coated paper clips(the round rings from the office store would probably be more ideal....but I wasn't gonna take a drive just to get those). There's no real instructions here....I kinda just winged it. You get the idea.

| And now she keeps it in her doctor kit :) |
